Cycling tours for connoisseurs – E-biking in Trentino

Cyclists in Trentino often have very relaxed and happy faces. This is of course due to the enchanting Dolomite landscape, the many cheerful people around, and the delicious Italian cuisine. For some, the secret also lies in a small motor under the saddle. With the help of the electric drive, locals and guests cycle completely relaxed uphill to cozy mountain huts, along picturesque mountain lakes and through remote valleys. More and more destinations in Trentino are offering flexible e-bike rental systems so that all visitors can enjoy relaxed bike tours.

Pedaling up the mountain on a bike? For many holidaymakers, this is not a very pleasant idea. In Trentino, however, many recreational cyclists react with a happy smile. The beautiful, long cycle path along the lake shore or the panoramic tour up to the gourmet hut where the host serves delicious tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms: what was only reserved for well-trained cyclists a few years ago is now an activity for the whole family. Our editorial team has also had the opportunity to get an idea of the very convincing possibilities in Trentino, especially in Valsugana: This summer, the Trentino region now offers even more offers…

New e-bike offers in Valli Giudicarie and around San Martino di Castrozza.

New is the e-bike which is north-west of Lake Garda in the area of Comano and Valli Giudicarie. As part of the “E-VVAI – like your life” project, the first rental stations were set up in Terme di Comano and Tione. There will be further stations in Val Rendena and Valle del Chiese. By summer, the rental offer will include 60 bikes from renowned manufacturers such as Scott and Haibike. The towns of San Martino di Castrozza, Passo Rolle, Primiero, and Vanoi, which cooperate as Destination Smart, attract visitors with 28 e-bikes at five Green Way Bike rental stations and further stations at the visitor centers of the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Nature Park. The Dolomiti Paganella Bike project offers a total of 400 kilometers of cycling fun for everyone on the Paganella plateau. 25 MTB e-bikes are now also available for rental on these routes with magical views and bike chalets.

A comprehensive range of rental and battery exchange stations

E-bikers will find an excellent infrastructure in Trentino. For example, Valsugana and Val di Non are the first and only destinations in Italy to offer a well-developed network of rental stations in cooperation with the successful rental system Movelo. There are also many battery exchange stations to make longer e-bike tours possible. In Valle di Ledro, cyclists can look forward to the diverse “BIKEXPRESS” offer: In addition to the rental bikes, there is a helmet, lock, tools, and a personal, individual tour recommendation. Guided tours are also offered weekly. Riva del Garda, with six charging stations and spectacular routes around Lake Garda, also offers the best conditions for e-bike tours. The bikes can be returned to any of the six stations at will. In Val di Fiemme there is the innovative mobility project “FiemmE-motion”. It includes the rental of conventional bicycles, e-bikes, and electric scooters. Shuttle service, bike sharing, and photovoltaic charging stations for the e-bikes are also offered.

Discover even more with shuttle service and train.

Those who want to discover the region’s diversity by bike during their holiday in Trentino and still have plenty of time for moments of enjoyment can count on excellent assistance. The Garda-Dolomiti Bike Shuttle, for example, connects the Garda Trentino area with the most beautiful places at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites. The Fassa-Fiemme Bike Express Shuttle, on the other hand, runs between Molina and Canazei. This means that cyclists can enjoy the 48-kilometer-long cycle path through the Val di Fassa and the Val di Fiemme to the fullest and make as many stops as they like. There is also the option of covering parts of the route by train. With the Ferrovia del Brennero, between Verona and Bolzano, the Ferrovia della Valsugana, between Trento and Bassano, and the Ferrovia Trento-Malé-Marilleva, between the capital and the Val di Sole, guests can reach their destination more quickly.
